Patients come to the facility from not only Edmonton, but from all over northern Alberta, northern B.C., the fellow Canadian Prairies provinces (SK & MB), the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. This Registered Nurse opportunity functions as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care; collaborative decision-making alongside the multidisciplinary team is also a key part of this role.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules/ and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271. Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent cardiac experience required. Able to stand for long periods, lift a minimum 50lbs and assist patient with mobilization and transport. Excellent assessment, documentation, clinical, organizational, and patient care skills are required, as well as the ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills needed. The successful candidate must be able to identify own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficits occur. Successful completion of Cardiology Unit Specific Courses and written content review. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Cardiology or CV Surgery wards. Experience with Telemetry and Connect Care. Charge Nurse experience. Cardiology level two training is preferred.
