De Beers has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician Artisan, Mobile Equipment. Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, this is a site-based position with a 14/14 shift roster rotating days and nights. The position is located at a remote mine site in Northwest Territories location. This position is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to electrical and control systems on mobile equipment in a safe, functional, reliable condition and provide customer service to the maintenance planning functions. The ideal candidate is one who is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm.
Key responsibilities:

• Work with team to conduct job risk assessments and safe work plans ahead of the work being completed;
• Complete training on electrical safety (Arc flash & Shock) as per site's Electrical Safety Program training;
• Understand and apply the information on detailed Arc Flash & Shock Equipment Labels, Results Tables or Work Orders to determine additional protective measures to reduce risk;
• Participate in safety audits, reviewing operating procedures and meetings, maintaining meaningful contribution.
• Maintain, repair, and test electric or electronic systems and components on the mobile maintenance fleet.
• Perform timely routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on mobile mining equipment in a shop or a field production environment.
• Complete accurate reporting of electrical defects/deficiencies.
• Complete a detailed report on the repairs and identify the cause of failure for each problem encountered on work orders
• Order Parts and Install electrical parts/components as per trade code and industry design specification requirements.
• Report hazard observations and near hits, and assist with incident investigations and follow-up work
• The chosen candidate will be working across various equipment including:
• Komatsu Excavators: PC5500, PC390, PC1250, PC2000, PC360
• Komatsu Haul Trucks: 830E, Dump Trucks: HD785, HM400
• Komatsu Loaders and Dozers: WA900, WA600, WA1200, D375, D65

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyperson certification in Electrical
• 4+ years working on Heavy Mining Equipment
• A minimum of 12 months of surface mining field experience working with heavy earthmoving equipment required
• Must be eligible to work in Canada
• Experience with Komatsu as asset
• Ability to read and decipher complex electrical drawing and prints
• Ability to operate within MS Office and SAP environment
• Ability to build productive working relationships with all department on site
• Ability to communicate and approach work in a professional and effective manner
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical & criminal record check
