Etches NICU, located at the Royal Alexandra Hospital! Our 69-bed unit is one of the busiest and most specialized NICUs in Canada, serving patients from across Northern Alberta, the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. With high acuity and high activity, we provide exceptional care to some of the most vulnerable infants. What sets us apart: We utilize a Family Centered Care philosophy within an interdisciplinary team model and are proud to be the only NIDCAP (Newborn Individualized Developmental Care and Assessment Program) training center in Canada. A dedicated Resuscitation and Stabilization Team (RST) responds to the High-Risk case room at the Lois Hole Hospital. What you'll do: Perform a variety of nursing duties and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families to achieve positive patient outcomes and improvements in quality care. Nursing care will be administered safely and effectively according to NICU and hospital guidelines. As a RN, you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and wellbeing. Utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
