Reporting to the Manager, Cardiac Specialty Clinics, the Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing excellent care to a diverse patient population within our Cardiac Specialty Clinics - Heart Function, Cardio-Oncology, and Cardiac Amyloidosis Clinics. Responsibilities include providing focused cardiac assessments, referral triaging and support care coordination across cardiac outpatient services. The RN is responsible for facilitating integrated care through communication with strategic members of the interdisciplinary team, collaborate to develop and provide patient and family education to optimize patient satisfaction and achieve optimal clinical outcomes .
As a Registered Nurse, you will practice according to the current standards of practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario, and the policies and procedures of Scarborough Health Network. You may be scheduled at any SHN campus based on departmental needs.
Requirements:

Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and in good-standing Current BCLS/CPR Certification 2 years of recent experience in Cardiology with patients diagnosed with Heart Failure Proficient in arrhythmia interpretation Proficient knowledge in advanced cardiac patient assessment and 12-lead ECG interpretation. Demonstrated excellence in patient teaching with a cardiac focus Demonstrated excellent patient teaching skills Demonstrated assessment skills within the RN scope of practice Strong patient care focus Demonstrated excellent problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skills Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues and volunteers and other members of the community and public Demonstrated values consistent with SHN's Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area Excellent work performance and attendance record


Asset:

Previous outpatient clinic nursing experience Knowledge or experience using Epic, an electronic health record (EHR) system Completed (or in progress) Coronary 1 & 2 course Completed 12-Lead ECG Interpretation Certification IV insertion and maintenance certification Current ACLS certification CNA (Canadian Nurse Association) certification in Cardiovascular Nursing Ability to speak another language
