Responsible for providing person centred care of General Medicine patients in the Integrated Community Program. The unit consists of ward and Level 1 (higher acuity) patients. The nurse works independently and collaboratively with the patient, family and interprofessional team. Functions of the nurse include but are not limited to assessment, intervention, evaluation, education, and discharge planning.
Qualifications/Skills
Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Current B.C.L.S. required, A.C.L.S. is an asset
B.Sc.N. required
Nursing experience in General Medicine within last two years
Coronary Care level 1 required.
Recent arrhythmia and cardiac monitoring preferred
Successful completion (80% pass) on interview quiz

Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member in an interprofessional team environment
Demonstrate commitment to quality improvement, ongoing professional development and reflective practice

Innovative practice in and appreciation of the unique needs and care of older adults
Gerontology certificate an asset
