Contribute to the assessment and interventions of general internal medicine populations, with expertise in non-medical management of delirium, early mobility, falls-risk assessments, ADL/IADLs, orientation and insight-building education.
Collaborate with patients, families and team members to improve patient functioning and facilitate effective patient discharges.
Act as an occupational therapy expert resource for staff, students, and other healthcare providers.
Maintain and upgrade knowledge and skills through continuing education and professional development.
Seek opportunities for involvement in practice-based research and engage in knowledge translation through evidence-based practice.
Participate in profession-specific and inter-professional activities in support of the Sunnybrook Occupational Therapy service and the Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto.
Practice in accordance with COTO standards for practice.
Qualifications/Skills
Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario required
Membership in CAOT and/or OSOT
Cognitive assessment experience required
Completed certification for Montreal Cognitive Assessment an asset
Current training in Alpha-FIM preferred
Strong commitment to inter-professional collaboration, to facilitate an excellent patient care experience
