Job Description

Job Summary: SR Friendship Society is hiring Registered Health Care Aides to work in a private home environment. Care will be provided in a 2:1 team based approach. Care team members will promote the wellbeing of the youth served.

The Society is looking to fill the following positions

:

i. 0700-1900 Sunday through Saturday

ii. 0700-1900 Sunday and Monday

iii. 1900-0700 Sunday to Saturday

iv. 2300-0700 Monday and Tuesday

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Performs ADLs, Personal care, medical and other support services to meet the physical and developmental needs of the youth living in the community.

2. Youth requires consistent observation, recording and reporting of symptoms and changes in their condition. Provides other support and tasks that assists the youth to live in the community. Including escorting the youth to community activities. At all times, ensures the safety of the youth.

3. Maintains strong relationship with the family and other members of the health care team. Assists other caregivers or family members.

4. Assists with care management by identifying potential problems and reporting any concerns.

5. Documents, Maintains records and provides reports as required.

6. Maintains related equipment and supplies.

7. Participates in the society's continuous quality improvement process as required.

8. Carries out job duties in a professional manner and is guided at all times by the society's Code of Ethics

9. Performs other related duties as requested

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience

i. Preferred minimum of three years' experience with one or more years experience working in a community setting

ii. Demonstrated ability to work independently within established society policies and procedures.

iii. Demonstrated ability with written, oral and interpersonal communication skills in English.

Employment Requirements

i. Active registration with BC Care Aide Registry

ii. Valid CPR C certificate or better

iii. Valid First Aid Certificate

iv. Good general health, physically and emotionally able to perform the duties of the job

v. Acknowledge and sign the Society's Statement of Confidentiality and Abuse Policy

Pay: $28.49-$30.03 per hour
