Reporting to the AAASI Management Team, the Registered Early Childhood Educator/Qualified Staff is a permanent position within the School Age Division.

(Hours: 7am-9am & 2pm-6pm; full days on school breaks)

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Provide engaging, interactive one-on-one and group setting care to toddler, preschool, kindergarten, and/or school-age children in a positive, professional, and inclusive manner. Ensure the highest standards of safety, health, and well-being of the children at all times, while in care. Assist with program creation and development that is age-appropriate and designed to stimulate and promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of the child (ren) - both individually and as a group. Observe, assess, and report child's progress to the management team as needed - including developmental and behavioural issues or concerns. Assist with and participate in the teams' shared responsibilities within and beyond the room. Maintain daily effective communication with children, parents, and staff, both verbally and written. Provide developmentally appropriate and acceptable behaviour modification techniques for the children. Supervision and evaluation of intern students from participating in school and community college programs. Provide a variety of educational resources/ideas to parents, students, and staff, as requested. Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications:

A degree/diploma in Early Childhood Education with proof of registration to the College of ECE's

Child/Youth Diploma or a Recreation and Leisure diploma and individuals who are members in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)

Experience working with children in group settings

Must have a solid understanding of and be able to adhere to the guidelines of the Child Care Early Years Act, City of Toronto & Toronto Public Health, as well as a clear understanding of the Serious Occurrence guidelines Able to work at the children's level, bend and lift up to 25 lbs.; and handle bodily fluids. Working knowledge of Emergent Curriculum ELF
Valid First Aid certificate to include Child CPR (C)

Vulnerable Sector Police/Criminal Reference Check

Vaccinations, which must include up-to-date, Covid-19 (2 doses, at minimum)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.07-$26.62 per hour
