Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)



Full Time (37.5 hours) | Monday to Friday | Weekends as needed

Accountable to:

Assistant Supervisor, Site Supervisor, Licensing & Family Support Manager

As an RECE in an OPCC licensed program, your role is to create a fun, safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. You will design and implement play-based learning programs that align with the How Does Learning Happen? framework, focusing on relationships, engagement, and well-being. Your responsibilities include observing and documenting each child's progress, adapting activities to meet their individual needs, and promoting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. You will also ensure compliance with CCEYA and communicate regularly with parents about their child's development. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with other educators and support staff to create an inclusive, child-centered atmosphere that fosters positive relationships.



Educator Responsibilities:



Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages exploration, curiosity, and positive social interactions Adhere to all government regulations and requirements including CCEYA, Public Health, Region of Halton and Quality Systems Framework Develop and implement an emergent curriculum applying core concepts of a Reggio Inspired philosophy Using the ELECT framework create play-based learning invitations and hands-on activities to engage children in learning experiences that align with developmental milestones and educational goals Working alongside parents and other community professionals to implement inclusive strategies to support children with special needs or those who require additional assistance in their learning and development Engage in professional development to stay informed about current best practices in early childhood education. Create documentation based on children's development, behaviours, interests, milestones, and individual learning styles Adhering to the Duty to Report mandate Participate in community and special events to strengthen connections with children and families Foster positive, professional, and respectful relationships with colleagues, parents, and community professionals Embrace and promote diversity, ensuring all children feel respected, valued, and included Maintain accurate administrative records Oversee ECE students on placements and complete evaluation forms as required Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:



Early Childhood Educator Diploma and/or Degree equivalent Must be registered and a member in good standing in the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) Experience working in a childcare environment with children 18 months to 6 years old Good at building relationships and connecting easily with others Excellent written and verbal communication skills Familiar with How Does Learning Happen?, ELECT and Think Feel Act Capacity to work within a team and be part of a multi-service organization
Successful candidates will be required to provide the following prior to their first scheduled day of work:

Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification Police Record Check with vulnerable sector screening dated within 6 months of hire date Up-to date immunizations and TB test
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
