We are seeking a Quality Assurance Consultant to join our team and support the delivery of home child care programs that reflect excellence, compliance, and innovation.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Home Child Care Supervisor, the Quality Assurance Consultant will work collaboratively with a team of Home Child Care Consultants (Home Visitors) to monitor, mentor, and support affiliated providers. The role ensures compliance with the Ministry of Education's Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Toronto Children's Services Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI), and the Agency's Program Statement.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct monthly and quarterly visits to affiliated home child care programs across Toronto to assess compliance with legislation and quality standards.
Collaborate with Home Visitors to ensure providers uphold the standards of How Does Learning Happen?, the College of ECE's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice*, and relevant legislation. Prepare professional reports, assessments, and compliance checklists as required by provincial and municipal guidelines.
Maintain and update confidential provider and child files, immunization records, First Aid certification, and training documentation.
Ensure accurate data entry and record management in systems such as Child Care Pro (CCP), CCLS, and CSIS.
Provide guidance and technical support to affiliated providers transitioning to electronic and paperless systems.
Build strong professional relationships to mentor providers in offering inclusive, high-quality child care.
Liaise with families, providers, community partners, and stakeholders to address issues, support inclusion, and strengthen community connections.
Engage in reflective practice and maintain a personal professional development plan aligned with best practices in early learning.
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, recognized by the Ministry of Education.
Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
Minimum 2 years' experience in the early years learning and child care sector.
Current First Aid certification and ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
Ability to work flexible hours and travel within the GTA (by public transit or personal vehicle).
Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of the CCEYA, Toronto AQI, and How Does Learning Happen?* Familiarity with the Ministry's Child Care Licensing System (CCLS) - Early Years Portal.
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and database systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse families and communities.
Effective organizational, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
