Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling and coaching services to clients as outlined in their health plans.
  • Understand each client\xe2\x80\x99s health plan and work proactively with the client and other team members in support of that plan.
  • Complete a thorough nutrition assessment to determine the nutrition diagnosis and intervention to help support optimal care. This includes preparing for the initial visit and follow-up visits by reviewing the chart, laboratory results, and referrals.
  • Compile and prepare reports on the health status of each assigned client, including the results of tests and assessments.
  • Ensure a personalized approach to each client\xe2\x80\x99s care, understanding that each client\xe2\x80\x99s needs are unique.
  • Engage in client education and coaching, health promotion and disease/illness prevention with the goal of empowering the client/family to take an active role in goal setting and action planning.
Qualifications
  • Completion of the four-year bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from a recognized university dietetic program.
  • Completion of the dietetic internship practicum in clinical nutrition, population public heath, and nutrition management.
  • Passed the National Competence Examination (Canadian Dietitian Registration Exam).
  • Registration with the College of Registered Dietitians for British Columbia.
  • Meet the annual Continuing Competence Program with the College.
  • Required to practice safely, competently, and ethically through government approved Standards of Practice and a Code of Ethics
  • Clinical experience in primary healthcare
  • Experience working with children and youth
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
