What you will be doing

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Pharmacy Manager in the day to day management of workload;
  • Collaborate with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants to fulfill prescription orders
  • Work collaboratively with Innomar and ABSG Patient Programs in fulfilling pharmacy responsibilities;
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions
  • Update job knowledge by participating in training opportunities
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt with change of workflow
  • Properly use and maintains equipment needed in making of compounds
  • Stage and Prepare Sterile Compounds with accordance in regulatory standards
  • Sampling batches for quality testing. Executes required in-process product quality checks and documents accurately
  • Perform miscellaneous inventory of consumables to ensure proper stock
  • Operate, clean and sterilize aseptic compounding equipment and compounding areas
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the compounding areas
  • Ensure all calculations on compounding log sheets are accurate and correct
  • Tracking, ordering, and receiving orders of supplies
  • Follow all SOPs, USP and all other safety and company policies, double check calculations, record compounding procedures, lot and expiry of ingredients.
  • Coordinate with other pharmacy team members to compound preparations and execute quality assurance procedures, following standard operating procedures

. * Responsible for inspection, maintenance, cleaning, and sterilization of all laboratory equipment, instruments, utensils, and work surfaces necessary/required for the preparations
  • Monitor and record inventory of chemicals, materials, consumables, and other required items. Cleaning of all work areas, including work surfaces, equipment, floors, walls etc.
  • The Registered Pharmacy Technician is required to renew their Registration with College of Pharmacists of BC on an annual basis, and to participate in the Quality Assurance Process on a regular basis, as part of their continuing education.
  • The Registered Pharmacy Technician will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time.
  • Mentioned duties are not exhaustive and would also include all the job duties under the scope of a Registered Pharmacy technician in a dispensary in BC.
What your background should look like

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Pharmacy Technician diploma from an accredited college and successful completion of Structured Practical Training or successful completion of Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) Bridging Program and a Certificate of Registration with OCP;
Two or more years of related pharmacy experience;

Strong proficiency in Kroll required;

Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

Bilingualism, French/English is an asset.

  • Excellent knowledge of pharmacy operations
Working knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and drug distribution practices
