As Regional Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operation of the grain and crop input facilities in the region and will be instrumental in coaching Managers and staff in the implementation of their goals and objectives to ensure maximum profitability is achieved. This role will be a key driver to ensure that annual plans in grain handle, crop input sales and expense management are met with a focus on achieving annual budgeted goals. Your day-to-day activities will include:
  • Providing direction in the operation of regional facilities
  • Driving the development of business plans & strategies
  • Successfully linking sales targets with annual budgets
  • Facilitating performance management initiatives and goal setting
  • Fostering employee & Manager skills development
  • Reviewing monthly profit & loss statements with each location in the region
  • Adhering to and supporting all company policies, procedures and business ethics
  • Assisting regional facilities in their hiring and recruitment efforts
  • Interacting collaboratively with other P&H departments

The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:
  • 5-10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience managing the operation of a grain elevator facility and/or the origination of agricultural commodities
  • College/university education in agriculture, business administration or related
  • Thorough knowledge of the grain and crop input business in western Canada
  • Knowledge and understanding of profit and loss statements
  • Ability to develop effective sales strategies and techniques
  • Experience with inventory management processes
  • Ability to coach and mentor a high performing team of employees
  • Developed problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Assertive & confident in decision-making
  • Ability to identify and interpret market trends and anticipate customer\xe2\x80\x99s needs
  • Must be able to work within environments subject to dust and allergens and be willing to work a flexible schedule.
