Impact Kitchen - Regional Manager (RM)

Position Overview:

The primary function of the Regional Manager (RM) is to lead and operate all Impact Kitchen restaurants in their region. The RM is fully accountable for the success of each location determined by sales performance & the achievement of targets. To do so the successful candidate will develop and align systems, standard operating procedures (SOP\xe2\x80\x99s), and people development at each location.

This role is the liaison between the Executive Team and the Management Team at each restaurant and exists to ensure each location achieves its goals in alignment to Impact Kitchen\xe2\x80\x99s vision and values. Additionally, the RM will work alongside GM\xe2\x80\x99s to support the operational implementation of HR actions and Marketing initiatives.

Reports to: Manager of Operations

Roles & Responsibilities:

Daily

  • Restaurant performance review of the following
  • Sales versus budget & sales versus forecast; performance analysis of key items, sales mix, promotional items & KPI\xe2\x80\x99s
  • Daily contact with managers (as required) to provide direction, support and follow-up on:
  • Sales Targets, action plans, project deadlines, internal or customer issues, or any other in-process item
  • Involvement in urgent actions or escalations, as required:
  • Track and action guest complaints by reviewing social media posts, verbal feedback & complaint log books
  • Support serious disciplinary action, ensuring proper process and documentation are being followed
Weekly
  • Review Reports & Prepare for Meetings
  • Weekly review of Sales & Labour
  • Detailed sales analysis to support sales opportunities & business growth
  • Prepare GM/KM meeting agenda talking points
  • Audits, Checklist reviews, & Restaurant Visits
  • Conduct rotational site visits to audit sales, quality of product, cleanliness, controls, standards, customer experience, and people.
  • Provide feedback & conduct on-the-spot coaching as required
  • Bring larger development items/deficiencies back into weekly meetings, developed and tracked through action plans
  • Work alongside staff to identify areas of opportunity, coach and build culture
  • Engage with customers and support in executing \xe2\x80\x98above & beyond\xe2\x80\x99 customer service
  • Recognize & document positives and identify leave-behind opportunities for Restaurant Management teams
  • For every in-store visit, conduct individual check-in with 1 Supervisor or Manager to review:
  • Job satisfaction
  • Location performance & in-store initiatives
  • Comments, concerns, suggestions (up the chain)
  • Current & future development to support opening new restaurant locations
  • Business Development
  • Through review of audits, employee feedback, and OKR progress:
  • Identify opportunities for Management improvement & pivots in general business strategies
  • Evaluate the success of new launches and new training implementation
  • Complete high ROI / low urgency initiatives, including:
  • Rebuilding checklists, updating Audits, rebuilding beverage SOPs

  • Coordinate with HRM to lead recruitment efforts for restaurant Management teams (GM, KM, AGM, AKM)
  • Actively participate in & support Management hiring & training planning
  • Host & attend weekly meetings
  • Weekly meeting with each Restaurant Management team (GM & KM)
  • Receive updates on: Sales & performance, guest experience, quality of product & brand alignment, People Development, HR issues, policy development, payroll & banking, Inventory, purchasing & receiving, store level marketing, COGS, labour
  • Executive Management Team Meeting
  • Summary of performance, people development, inventory and escalations by location with updates to action plans from previous weeks and proposed plans for upcoming week(s), by location or business function
  • People Development & HR Meeting
  • Management recruitment, hiring and training support
  • Finance Meeting with Accounting & Finance Manager
  • P&L analysis
  • COGS comparison
  • Training strategy (for leaders)
  • Marketman Analysis
By Period
  • Host & attend Period Meetings
  • Period financials analysis & prep support with Restaurant Managers
  • Operational period preparation meeting
  • GM P&L Meeting
  • Executive Management meeting to present Financial Review & Forecasts; Performance, Strategy & Development, by location; Health & Safety Audits; High ROI plans
Quarterly
  • Prepare for & attend quarterly OKR meetings
  • Set Objectives and provide updates on the Key Results
  • HR Reviews & Governance support
  • Complete 360 feedback form for staff around them
  • Complete annual performance reviews, with quarterly follow-up with all location management
  • Review and maintain all policies, Government standards and compliance protocols relevant to the business
