Duties: This position is part of a management team reporting to the Regional Director - Laboratory Services and will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the Laboratory at Western Memorial Regional Hospital as well as clinical and technical support for the rural laboratories within Western Health.The successful candidate must demonstrate the key skills, behaviours, abilities and knowledge as outlined in the five domains of the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.o Leading yourself by having self-awareness, managing your performance and health, developing yourself, and demonstrating character that is in line with Western Health\'s values of accountability, care, collaboration, excellence, respect and transparency;

o Systems Transformation by thinking analytically and critically and questioning and challenging the status quo, encouraging and supporting innovation, orienting oneself strategically to the future, and championing and orchestrating change.Required Qualifications: The successful applicant will possess a minimum of five years\' experience in a hospital Laboratory as a General Registered Technologist (RT) and currently registration with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals (NLCHP). The successful applicant will be an action orientated individual and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. The successful applicant will possess strong organizational, interpersonal, financial management and decision making skills and have the ability to work in a fast paced changing environment and be committed to team building. The successful applicant will hold a Bachelor of Technology or a Bachelor\'s Degree in a Related Discipline.Please note: Travel throughout the Region is required.In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Bachelor\'s Degree, provided they are willing to complete same within five years of appointment to the position. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment to an appropriate degree program within the first year of appointment to the position. Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to provide annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.**A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.Hours of Work: 70 hours per pay period
0700-1500 and 0800-1600 Hours; Monday to Friday
Salary: $71,215.00 to $92,579.00 per Annum
