The University of Prince Edward Island is committed to creating a safe and healthy-living learning environment. The Manager of Security Services is the leader responsible for the campus safety and security planning, administrative, operational, and technical aspects associated with the Security Services division.
Reporting directly to the Associate Vice-President of Facilities and Construction, the Manager of Security Services is responsible for ensuring that security services are delivered effectively and efficiently within University guidelines. The manager will also work closely with the community and implement and oversee community-based security programs.
In addition, the work also involves the management of resources associated with Security Services, including assisting with budgeting and budget control, revenue generation, purchasing and maintenance of equipment, and the recruitment, training, and deployment of the members of Security Services.
The Facilities Management Department oversees approximately 1,500,000 square feet of university property that\'s encompassed in 31 buildings (including 4 residences) and situated on 134 acres of land in the City of Charlottetown. The University has a second campus located in St. Peters, PEI. Currently, there are approximately 5800 students and 1000 staff and faculty working on campus.
Security Services oversees building and campus security, parking management, crime prevention education and assists outside law enforcement agencies as required. Staffing consists of Security Attendants, administrative staff and casual staff.
