Job Title: Regional Manager - Agricultural Inputs

Job Summary:




Regional Managers are experienced, hands-on leaders representing branch operations and delivery of agricultural inputs--including chemicals, fertilizers, and seed-- for a key TerraLink market territory. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations and order fulfillment at the regional level while working closely with Sales Managers and Inventory Planning to ensure local customers are supported with the right products at the right time.

Key Responsibilities:




Branch Operations & Customer Service


Lead daily operations of the branch, including warehouse activities and shipping/receiving.


Ensure safe and efficient handling of agricultural inputs in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements (e.g., AWSA, CFIA, WorkSafe BC).


Supervise and support staff responsible for product staging, receiving, shipping and transfers.


Deliver a high level of service to our agricultural customers, resolving operational or service issues promptly.


Inventory & Replenishment Coordination


Work closely with Sales Management, Inventory Analyst and Distribution & Logistics team to plan seasonal inventory needs for seed, fertilizer, and chemicals.


Ensure product availability aligns with regional crop timing and customer demand, minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.


Oversee physical inventory counts, stock rotation, lot tracking, and expiry management at the branch level.


Monitor warehouse organization, product segregation, and storage standards (especially for regulated materials).


Sales Support & Market Alignment


Collaborate with Sales Managers to align inventory and service capacity with local sales strategies and market demand.


Support execution of seasonal campaigns, grower programs, and in-season promotions by ensuring timely product access and service.


Provide feedback to Sales and Supply Chain teams on customer trends, competitor activity, and service challenges in the region.


Leadership & Team Development


Hire, train, and develop a high-performing operations team across the branch location (including warehouse staff and delivery personnel).


Establish clear goals, schedules, and performance expectations; provide coaching and support as needed.


Foster a strong safety culture and ensure all team members are trained in WHMIS, handling protocols, and emergency procedures.


Compliance & Reporting


Ensure compliance with health, safety, transportation, and environmental regulations (e.g., TDG, AWSA, WorkSafe BC).


Maintain accurate branch-level documentation for inspections, audits, and inventory control.


Report key operational metrics to Senior Management (e.g., service levels, efficiency, safety, inventory accuracy).

Qualifications:




Bachelor's degree or diploma in Agribusiness, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).


5+ years of experience in agricultural retail or distribution, with at least 2 years in a leadership or branch management role.


Strong understanding of seed, fertilizer, and crop protection products and the seasonal needs of the agricultural market.


Experience managing warehouse operations, shipping, inventory, and frontline service in a regulated environment. Proven ability to lead teams, manage cross-functional coordination, and deliver exceptional customer service.


Familiarity with ERP or inventory systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).


Knowledge of AWSA warehousing requirements and regulatory standards related to ag inputs. Formal training in warehouse safety, WHMIS, TDG, or forklift operations.


Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.


Knowledge of local/regional agricultural practices, crop rotations, and grower needs.
