President and Chief Operating Officer

, the

Regional Manager, Facilities and Capital Projects

is responsible for overseeing operations across a portfolio of retirement communities and seniors' apartments in Ontario and Alberta. This role requires hands-on experience managing building systems and capital projects, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring contract compliance.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



Bring strategic insight, operational excellence, and a proactive approach to building lifecycle management, capital projects, and stakeholder engagement and communication. Plan and manage building infrastructure and renovation projects across communities, including HVAC, mechanical, and life safety systems. Conduct on-site assessments to identify maintenance needs and opportunities for preventative upgrades and maintenance. Support site teams in resolving urgent building-related issues. Ensure that communities meet all regulatory and company standards for maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, safety, and environmental sustainability. Standardize environmental services and procedures across all sites. Provide strategic oversight of vendor relationships, contract management, budgeting, and infrastructure upgrades. Manage environmental service contracts across the region, evaluate vendor performance, and negotiate service agreements and contract renewals. Monitor capital and operational budgets for environmental services in collaboration with site Executive Directors. Provide quarterly and annual reporting on project status, capital spend, and risk mitigation. Support hiring, training, and onboarding of Environmental Services and Maintenance Manager positions across all communities.

WORKING CONDITIONS



Frequent road and air travel to sites across Ontario and Alberta. Ability to respond to urgent operational issues outside of business hours when needed. Hands-on site inspections may require navigation of confined or congested spaces, rooftops, or mechanical areas, and exposure to fluctuating temperatures. Use of electrical equipment, sharp tools, and climbing ladders and stairs. Capable of safely lifting and moving objects weighing 50 lbs and above.

WHO YOU ARE



Experienced leader with a strong technical background in facility management. Diploma or degree in Facility Management, Building Systems, Engineering, or Project Management, or equivalent related experience. 5+ years of relevant experience in facilities management or environmental services, preferably in healthcare or senior living. Demonstrated experience managing multi-site capital projects and service contracts. Valid driver's licence and ability to travel extensively across Ontario and Alberta. Knowledge of Ontario and Alberta building codes, Fire Codes, OHSA, and public health regulations. Strong communication, project coordination, and budgeting skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, other applicable software). Must be able to provide police check with vulnerable sector screen upon hire. Must be able to provide record of immunization for TB test upon hire. Must be able to provide proof of vaccination for COVID-19 (minimum 2 doses), upon hire.

Pay: $95,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
