based out of Kelowna International Airport (YLW) to oversee daily checkpoint operations and deliver exceptional screening services.
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, the Regional Field Manager will play a critical leadership role by directly supervising the Regional Service Delivery Managers (SDMs), Regional Checkpoint Resource Coordinators (CRCs), and Screening Officers (SOs) ensuring full compliance with CATSA's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), client expectations, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This position requires sound judgement, strong labour relations awareness, and an operational mindset to ensure efficient, consistent, and professional service delivery in a unionized environment.
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day operational leadership at checkpoint(s) in Kelowna, managing RSDMs, RCRCs and SOs
Responsible for daily operations to ensure KPI and SLA compliance (e.g., wait time; daily service levels, staffing requirements, screening compliance, etc.)
Proactively lead performance and conduct reviews, coaching RSDMs and frontline staff as required
Coordinate with Regional Operations Manager for resource planning, optimization and ensuring operational alignment
Participate in emergency response planning and execution during critical incidents
Ensure break management is administered as per CBA and Insights tracking are maintained to minimize non-productive time
Serve as the primary escalation point for operational and personnel issues on shift
Liaise with union representatives and support RSDMs/RCRCs with staff inter-action. Assist in follow-up meetings and preparation of required documentation.
Promote Paladin's CARE culture through frontline engagement and visible leadership
Create windows of opportunities and guide frontline to deploy staff for downtime training like XRT/RLP, SOBs, etc.
Assist Regional Operations Manager in administrative tasks like attendance management, shift bids, scheduling, payroll, consumables, Time and Attendance System, overtime, etc.
Any other duties as assigned by the Regional Operations Manager/Director, Operations.
Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in aviation, security, or logistics
Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Business, Criminology) is a strong asset
Experience working in a unionized, regulated environment is preferred
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to lead tough conversations
Excellent organizational and reporting skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and change management
Ability to work flexible hours in a dynamic 24/7 environment
* Able to obtain Transport Canada security clearance
