As our new Regional Director of Recreation and Support Services you will:

• Directly support Recreation Leaders in our Villages as well as independent contractors such as music and horticultural therapists, volunteer coordinators, and spiritual care leads.
• Seek opportunities and support Villages to implement new ideas and innovation in programing to enhance residents experiences and strengthen community.
• Facilitate and develop education for members of the recreation and support services team.
• Support, along with the village leadership team, the onboarding of new recreation leaders.
• Develop policies and procedures related to programs within the LTC and RH.
• Demonstrate alignment with our vision, mission and organizational values of caring, passion, hands-on, innovation, positive can-do attitude, and hard work; as well as, the values of the customer experience credo (know me, be present, earn trust, follow through, walk in my shoes).
• Proficient computer skills as well as oral and written communication skills by listening to others, sharing information, coaching others, ensuring clarity of direction/instructions, update care plans in the current system and documenting care notes.
• Have knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector, including the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and Health & Safety Act of Ontario; specific knowledge of regulations related to programming and recreation.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and empathy skills and ability to be flexible, adaptable and approachable to foster strong and positive relationships with others.
• Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of service to our residents, visitors, and team members through comprehensive and effective support

To be successful as Regional Director of Recreation and Support Services:

• A post-secondary degree or diploma in Therapeutic Recreation and Leisure studies, or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a Leadership role, preferably in recreation.
• Implementation and integration of LIMTs Meaningful and Active Engagement into village life would be considered and asset.
