Job Description
The Dietitian / Director of Nutrition and Support Services is responsible for the resident's overall nutritional status and the nutritional education of staff and residents. They are also responsible for managing effective housekeeping and laundry services for the residents.
Regular Duties and/or Responsibilities
Responsible for overall supervision of food preparation and services for residents and staff.
Assess Residents' nutritional status and requirements upon admission, quarterlies and annuals.
Document nutritional care of all residents in their Medical Records according to established standards.
Adapt menus to meet specific dietary orders, needs, and resident requirements.
Ensure the menu follows Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating for the senior population.
Maintain standardization of recipes, portion control, and ensure correct food safety procedures are in place.
Purchase food commodities, supplies, and equipment.
Attend Resident Care Plan Conferences and Professional Advisory Committee meetings.
Work collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary care team.
Responsible for staff hiring, orientation and training, and supervision of full and part-time staff.
Develop and maintain departmental Quality Assurance Programs.
Prepare payroll information for the department.
Supervise the overall operations of the Laundry and Housekeeping Department.
Performs other related work as required.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
