Regional Coordinator, Practice Experience Program

Job Description


The College of Pharmacy includes undergraduate and graduate programs with a mission to enhance health and wellness through pharmacy education, research and community service. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Practice Experience, the Regional Coordinator is a pharmacist, who liaises with sites, preceptors, and students within assigned, specific geographic regions for the purpose of promoting the practice experience program, identifying potential new sites and feedback on current sites, and providing local support to preceptors and students.
Key Responsibilities

  • Interact with local current partners to communicate program needs, criteria for participation and available supports. Ensure current partners meet criteria for participation.
  • Identify potential partners and work with the Coordinator, Practice Experience to initiate and develop relationships.
  • Review new sites and preceptors for the provision of full scope practice and identify suitability for varying placements.
  • Contact students and preceptors during courses to assist with any issues and refer complex situations.
  • Respond to questions from students and preceptors and intercede in issues not requiring input from the Coordinator, Practice Experience or the Assistant Director, Practice Experience

  • Eastern Zone, Nova Scotia - 0.2 FTE
  • Western Zone, Nova Scotia - 0.2 FTE
  • Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia - 0.2 FTE
  • New Brunswick Community Clinic - 0.1 FTE
  • New Brunswick Hospital - 0.2 FTE
  • Prince Edward Island - 0.1 FTE

Required Qualifications
  • A entry-to-practice pharmacy degree with approximately five years\' of relevant prior experience, including experience as a preceptor (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, on-line) and interpersonal skills and ability to work one-on-one with individuals and with groups as necessary.
  • Excellent time management, organization, attention to detail, prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
