Reporting to the Director of Transportation, this position impacts the organization by ensuring that Apple Express has the strong base of service providers/owner operators to support the transportation operation for our healthcare clients.
The work includes identifying and resolving customer issues related to quality of service. In addition, the Client Specialist ensures that proper comprehensive driver training dedicated to each client's specific needs. The driver network is a critical component of the Apple operational team delivering on the customer promise and service quality expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Job Key Contributions/Task)
Foster positive customer relations through participation in regular customer meetings
Ensure that the driver/owner operator operation is in full compliance with all pre-defined work instructions and pertinent legislation
Prepare and present Performance Evaluations (score cards) for drivers and agents
Monitor hours of service of owner operators in the field,
Ongoing day-to-day and "on-road" training and supervision of drivers.
Coordinate with the internal Apple team on roll outs of new procedures/initiatives or new client implementations in the field
Provide constant feedback and recommendations to the driver recruiter.
Liaison with Customer contacts and internal Customer Service department as necessary
Responsible for driver scheduling and replacement by Client account.
Create a quality awareness culture through the encouragement and management of owner operators
Take the necessary steps to minimize transportation costs and maintain efficiency
Execute the Health and Safety training program as well as maintain all training related documentation
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and experience:
Post-secondary education, or related work experience in the transportation industry.
Must possess a valid Ontario driver's license in good standing
Able to travel, work flexible hours and days
Experience in a Transportation supervisory role or equivalent is an asset
Must be cost conscious and be able to identify opportunities to increase profitability.
This position requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.
