River Heights Child Care is a beautiful 52 space Reggio-Inspired Montessori centre.

Our specially designed program with two Master Educators in each classroom (one Montessori Educator and one Reggio Educator) enables children to explore and discover their world by means of their own unique learning styles and preferences for play. We feel that combining the Montessori philosophy with the Reggio-Emilia Approach offers children the best avenues to express themselves creatively, learn concepts in meaningful contexts and develop critical thinking skills that will last a lifetime through inquiry-based and play-based emergent learning - while having loads of fun!

We are seeking a warm and energetic Reggio Master Educator who also believes in the above statements to co-lead a fun Reggio-Inspired Montessori program in our preschool playrooms - ages 2-6.

Reggio Master Educator (ECE II/III Classification)

Valid Emergency First Aid & CPR Level C Lead the Reggio/Play-Based aspects of the curriculum in collaboration with the Montessori Educator Experience delivering a Reggio-Inspired program Experience or knowledge of STEAM education and Loose Parts an asset
Master Educator Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for overall care and supervision of children; Guide classroom assistants and volunteers by modelling best practice in early learning and child care, public health and safety practices; Collaborate with colleagues and management in a professional and productive manner on a regular basis; Observe children in daily activities and provide emergent programming for each child based on their interests, developmental abilities, and sensitive periods for learning; Guide Assistant Educators in planned programming and activities to carry out with children; Communicate with families and make learning visible through documentation panels and daily e-reports; Maintain the prepared environment by responding to the developmental needs of all children, and keeping the learning environment fresh, orderly and inviting; Daily outdoor play and supervision.
Qualified candidates must be comfortable with the following:

Using tablets, smart software and Microsoft Word; Singing out loud, being silly and having fun with children; Playing outdoors in all types of weather (and getting dirty!) Being a storyteller - recording and displaying dialogue and observations of children in order to make learning visible (exceptional written and oral English skills are essential); Being a forward-thinker and collaborator with other educators and management, sharing ideas and being open to ideas from others; Learning about a new philosophy and merging it with your own current knowledge and practices; Dropping all plans to follow the children's lead, or immediate needs; Being a strong advocate for children and Early Childhood Education as a profession.
