Overview

We are seeking a motivated Refrigeration Mechanic Helper to join our team and support the maintenance and repair of refrigeration, HVAC, and related mechanical systems. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in property maintenance, appliance repair, and field service operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in HVAC/R systems, mechanical knowledge, and a willingness to learn and develop technical skills in a dynamic environment.

Duties

Assist with HVAC Installation & Servicing - Residential and commercial heat pumps, furnaces, hot water tanks, Perform general labour duties, including physical labour, equipment handling, operating hand tools, building frames, installing insulation, fitting drain lines, and performing plumbing tasks. Perform routine inspections and basic repairs on plumbing, boilers, and other mechanical components Use tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for minor repairs Help with equipment repair tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as directed Support property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems and refrigeration units Assist with field service operations including equipment diagnostics and troubleshooting on-site Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment

Skills

and Experience required, 2 to 3 years.

Plumbing - Installing drain lines, water connections, and basic plumbing repairs Electrical - Checking and testing connections, diagnosing with multimeters Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters Experience or background in construction and sheet metal work. Sheet Metal & Fabrication - Custom ductwork, metal fitting, and bracketing Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to support service technicians effectively Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred for field service operations Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics for system troubleshooting Safety & Compliance - Confined spaces, fall protection, workplace safety procedures

Pay: From $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 44 per week
