Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled

Red Seal Millwright (Maintenance Supervisor)

to lead and manage our maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, proven leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Supervision & Team Management



Hire, train, supervise, and support maintenance staff. Schedule and assign maintenance tasks to team members. Ensure all team members adhere to safety standards and protocols.

2. Maintenance Planning & Execution



Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs. Coordinate and oversee all maintenance projects, repairs, and emergency breakdowns. Monitor equipment performance and implement continuous improvement strategies.

3. Budget & Resource Management



Prepare and manage maintenance department budgets. Ensure cost-effective use of parts, labor, and other resources. Source and manage spare parts inventory efficiently.

4. Vendor & Contractor Coordination



Liaise with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance work. Oversee, inspect, and ensure the quality of outsourced work.

5. Documentation & Reporting



Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and incidents. Generate reports and present updates to management as required.

Qualifications:



Education:



Completion of secondary school is required. Post-secondary education in a related field such as mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a technical trade is an asset.

Certification:



Red Seal Certification

as an Industrial Millwright (433A) is required. Additional trade certification (e.g., Electrical) is an asset. Certifications such as

Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM)

are considered advantageous.

Experience:



5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field. Supervisory or team leadership experience is strongly preferred. Hands-on experience with automation systems and CMMS tools.

Skills & Competencies:



Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Physical Requirements:



Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces. Comfortable working in various environments, including noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
