Overview

We are looking to add a Red Cross Youth Leader to our Edmonton team! We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working with youth (ages 8-15).
Teaching/coaching experience is an asset.

Little Lungs First Aid and Big Hearts First Aid are Canadian Red Cross and Heart & Stroke partners. We are looking to add instructors to our Edmonton team to teach our Red Cross Youth Courses (including Stay Safe and Babysitter).

Responsibilities

Lead and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs of youth, including those with disabilities Support children in their personal growth through mentorship and positive reinforcement Collaborate with team members to develop inclusive programs that promote social skills, teamwork, and confidence Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during activities and outings Assist in organizing events, workshops, and recreational activities that align with program goals Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and community partners as needed Adapt activities to accommodate various skill levels and special needs

Skills

Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings Knowledge of best practices for working with individuals with disabilities Strong teaching abilities with patience and empathy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect effectively with youth of diverse backgrounds Ability to organize and lead engaging activities while maintaining safety standards Passion for youth development, inclusion, and community service
This role is ideal for individuals committed to making a positive difference in young people's lives through leadership, compassion, and creativity.

Weekday and Weekend availability is required.

This position requires the Red Cross Youth Leader Certification. If you do not have this certification, we can assist you in obtaining it.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
