Duties and responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight to Recycling and Commercial Products & Services operations, ensuring efficient workflow processes, quality assurance, financial management, strong stakeholder relations and safe workplace practices.
Support employment and training opportunities for individuals experiencing disability or barriers to employment by developing inclusive work strategies and innovative approaches within recycling and commercial service activities.
Duties include:
Supervise, guide, and support staff in all recycling, and commercial service operations, ensuring productivity, quality standards, and customer satisfaction.
Oversee facility operations, including equipment use and maintenance, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and reporting of production and diversion statistics to funders.
Develop and monitor budgets, analyze efficiencies, and implement improvements to maximize production and service delivery.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations, maintain operational and safety manuals, and coordinate staff training.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, waste haulers, contractors, and community stakeholders, while promoting recycling services and employment initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education:
Environmental Services Bachelor's Degree or Bachelor of Commerce (Operations Management); or equivalent minimal 3 years experience in duties listed above may be considered
Valid class 5 driver's licence
Motorized industrial vehicle certification (Skid Steer)
Experience:
Knowledge of recycling industry or manufacturing processes, equipment operation, logistics, and safety management systems; ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues and ensure compliance with OHS standards.
Experience supervising staff, applying HR processes and accommodation strategies, and fostering safe, inclusive, and productive workplace practices.
Strong customer service, public speaking, and relationship-building skills; proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, record-keeping, and reporting.
Final Candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search.
