Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment and Retention, the Recruitment Assistant provides support for the Recruitment team. The incumbent will support various HR administrative functions including but not limited to: posting jobs, reviewing seniority reports, scheduling interviews, drafting letters, answering recruitment inquires, submitting reference check, participating in interviews, and attending and supporting the organization and coordination of job fairs. The successful candidate will take initiative, provide excellent customer service, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and is eager to learn and work collaboratively as part of the team.

The Recruitment Assistant may be scheduled at any of the SHN hospital sites based on departmental needs and may be required to attend job fairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the recruitment team which includes posting/updating job postings and interview questions, and scheduling interviews.
  • Provide general information to applicants regarding employment opportunities, status of recruitment process.
  • Providing administrative support to the team.
  • Assisting in advertising of job postings on various sites.
  • Provide support for job fairs, open houses and circuit interviews.
  • Assist with recruitment for special programs and support the administration of the employee referral program and other recruitment initiatives
  • Participating in other recruitment and human resources initiatives and projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • CHRP designation preferred
  • Previous recruitment experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service and human resources experience, hospital experience preferred.
  • Takes initiative and is eager to learn
  • Understands HR practices and the various aspects of the employee life cycle
  • Experience working with a Human Resources Information System and Applicant Tracking System
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently to coordinate multiple projects and meet tight deadlines as required
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer service, communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Team player willing to take direction as required
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams)
  • Satisfactory work performance and attendance
