FabHR is looking for a Recruiting Specialist to join our manufacturing operations in Ottawa, Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full-cycle recruiting process, including job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new employees
Assist in developing proactive hiring strategies and understanding staffing needs.
Use a variety of channels to build strong candidate pipelines
Conduct reference checks, background checks, and pre-employment screenings
Oversee and improve onboarding and retention programs to ensure a positive employee experience
Maintain HR records and compliance with employment laws and company policies
Support other HR functions such as performance management, employee relations, and training initiatives
Collaborate on workplace policy updates including attendance, dress code, and conduct guidelines to ensure compliance and alignment with company culture.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in HR or recruiting experience (mandatory)
Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
In-depth knowledge of hiring practices, labor laws, and HR best practices.
Proven ability to manage multiple open positions and meeting hiring deadlines.
Experience with hourly workforce hiring (production, maintenance, logistics, engineering)
Ability to interpret and apply employment laws when updating HR policies
Experience developing, revising, or implementing workplace policies and employee handbooks
Proficient with Microsoft Office, ATS, and HRIS software
