The Role




We are

seeking an internal Recruiter

to join Cold Start Ventures, based in Montreal. This is a high-impact role responsible for

building the foundation of our internal and portfolio talent pipeline

. As our founding recruiting partner, you will drive our efforts to source, engage, and pipeline world-class talent--both founders to help incubate new ventures and key hires for our internal operations.


You'll

own the top-of-funnel search process

, partner with our leadership across multiple searches, and

help shape the recruiting strategy as we grow

. You'll also have the opportunity to implement sourcing best practices, track key metrics, and support employer branding initiatives.

Key Responsibilities



Source, engage, and build pipelines

of top-tier founders and strategic talent for our portfolio and internal roles Conduct

initial outreach

and

screening

to assess talent fit and motivation Work

closely with the leadership team

to understand hiring needs and ideal candidate profiles Partner with our founders and operators to

coordinate searches for critical early hires

across ventures Maintain and update candidate databases, ensuring a seamless and data-driven recruiting process Collaborate on

building our employer brand

and

raising awareness of Cold Start Ventures

within key talent markets Contribute to improving recruitment processes, analytics, and candidate experience

Requirements



3+ years of experience

in talent sourcing, recruitment, or executive search--experience with early-stage startups, venture capital, or founder sourcing is a strong plus Demonstrated

ability to build and nurture pipelines

of skilled professionals, with a talent for identifying high-potential candidates Excellent research, outreach, and communication skills;

able to represent Cold Start with credibility

to senior leaders, founders, and specialized talent Highly organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful--

able to manage multiple searches and priorities simultaneously

Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and impact-driven environment Experience using modern recruiting tools and techniques

Bonus Points



Experience hiring in healthcare, AI, or B2B SaaS sectors Exposure to employer branding, recruitment marketing, or talent community building
