Powerline Plus Ltd. is looking for a self-directed, highly motivated recruiter with excellent communication skills. The recruiter will be responsible for all aspects of recruitment, including full cycle recruitment, employee relations, facilitating orientation, training and attendance management.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations or related discipline
A minimum of five (3) years' experience as a Recruiter within a union environment preferred
Advanced knowledge of the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and other applicable legislation
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) considered an asset
High degree of confidentiality, discretion and judgment required
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Full cycle recruitment for union and nonunion roles
Onboarding and offboarding
Maintaining employee database
Facilitating weekly new worker orientation sessions
Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing human resources policies and procedures in accordance with the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and other relevant legislation
Recruit qualified candidates in accordance with applicable legislative requirements (OHRC, AODA etc..) via job postings on various internal and external boards
Screen applicants by carefully matching experience, education and qualifications to the job criteria as well as conducting video, phone and in-person interviews
Tracking and monitoring employee absences
Ensure that all employee files have the most current information and training documentation by ensuring all employee databases and spreadsheets are cohesive
conducting reference checks
Actively participate in the review of job descriptions
Reception coverage when required
Support departmental managers with various administrative tasks on an as needed basis
