Position Overview
Reporting to the Associate Director, People & Culture, the Recruiter plays a pivotal role in sourcing, attracting, and selecting top-tier candidates to join our organization. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing effective recruitment strategies, building a strong talent pipeline, and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process. The Recruiter is expected to be customer service-oriented and exhibit a high degree of diplomacy and discretion.
Accountabilities
Recruiting
Supports the recruiting strategy to ensure FMB attracts high caliber talent in a timely manner.
Performs full cycle recruitment to support all business lines by completing tasks such as:
Conducting phone screens
Scheduling interviews
Creating interview questions
Interviewing
Criminal reference checks
Personal reference checks
Creates and monitors job postings, advertising externally as needed.
Determines sourcing & attraction strategies/methodologies to increase FMB's ability to attract, source and recruit indigenous candidates.
Supports orientation of new employees as needed.
Ensures compliance with local and federal Employment Standards.
Other
Maintains employee files and records.
Understands and applies HR policies and guidelines ensuring compliance.
Promotes consistent company culture in alignment with FMB values.
Supports initiatives in Employee health, safety, and wellness.
The Recruiter performs other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
Post-Secondary Education in Human Resource Management from a recognized educational institution or relevant experience required.
Minimum of two (2) years recruitment experience.
Previous experience, knowledge or understanding in Indigenous culture an asset.
Experience connecting with and/or recruiting Indigenous candidates a strong asset.
Excellent communicator with a strong command of written and spoken English. French or Indigenous language skills considered an asset.
Exceptional relationship building skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Knowledge of Canadian federal employment/labour laws and general human resources policies and procedures.
Effective working skills of Microsoft and Adobe software products.

This position is can be based in Winnipeg, MB, Montreal, QC or Ottawa, ON. Hybrid work arrangements may be considered.
