Summary of the Role:

Recreational Coaches at Elevate Gymnastics Club are primarily responsible for the safe and effective facilitation of lesson plans provided by our Executive Director. This role is crucial in delivering a high-quality, fun, and educational experience to our young gymnasts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Facilitate lesson plans, provide clear class instruction, perform spotting duties, and assist with grading and distributing approved progress reports. Collaborate effectively with other coaching staff to ensure successful class delivery and a cohesive team environment. Communicate regularly with the Executive Director regarding athletes' progress, concerns, and achievements. Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure a safe and organized facility. Maintain complete vigilance while on duty, always prepared to respond to any emergency situation promptly and effectively. Complete basic administrative duties in a timely manner, including attendance tracking, and incident/accident reports, as well as opening and closing procedures. Maintain a safe and tidy program space, ensuring all equipment is set up, utilized, and stored appropriately. Report all concerns, accidents, and incidents to the Executive Director for immediate follow-up. Understand, adhere to, and strictly enforce all organization Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards. Participate in staff meetings and sessional courses or clinics offered, as required, for ongoing professional development. Opportunities to lead childcare camps, birthday parties, and various club events may be available (optional). Perform other duties as assigned to support the club's operations.

Requirements:

Age 15 years or older (candidates 14 years of age may be considered based on relevant experience). Foundations Intro certification in artistic gymnastics, or a willingness to obtain it. Energetic, enthusiastic, and genuinely passionate about physical activity, gymnastics, and working with children. Proficient communication, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team environment. Successful completion of a Clean Criminal Record Check with Judicial Matters (Level 2), or Vulnerable Sector Check. Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification, or a willingness to obtain.

Compensation & Logistics:

Availability/Schedule: Part-time/casual positions available, primarily during weeknights and weekends. Job Type: Part-Time/Temporary Wage: $16.60 - $20+ per hour, depending on Gymnastics Certifications. Training will be provided for the right candidates! Benefits: Casual, athletic dress code; On-site parking. Work Schedule: To be determined based on class schedules and club needs. Work Location: In person, at our facility in Kenora, ON.
