The Opportunity

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Recreation and Parks department as a PLAYcare Attendant in our childcare space.



PLAYcare is a drop-in child-minding service for children ages 1-8 years-old at Servus Credit Union Place operating throughout the year in the mornings for members and public. It is an active childcare service which focusses on a variety of lead and free-PLAY (Physical Literacy And You) activities for kids.




As a PLAYcare Attendant you will be responsible for the safety and care of children 1-8 years old.

Your duties will include ensuring participants are signed-in and out; interacting with parents and caregivers at the start and end of the participants' stay, setting-up and ensuring the play space is safe, inclusive, and fun; playing, interacting with and supporting participants; providing exceptional customer service, light cleaning duties, assisting in record keeping, and adhering to Health & Safety legislation, guidelines, and procedures.

Qualifications

Level 1 Early Childcare Educator Certificate is required; Level 2 or 3 are assets. Minimum 1 year experience working with children in either a childcare capacity or program is required. Experience working in a childcare facility is an asset. Current Standard First Aid and CPR C with AED certification is required prior to starting. Applicants must possess strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills are necessary to address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns. Reliable, takes initiative, and thrives in working in a diverse environment.

Hours of Work

Shifts available starting mid-June 2025.



Weekday and weekend shift include Monday - Sunday 8:30 am - 1:00 pm.

Compensation

Starting at $17.47 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
