In coordination with the Recreation Supervisor, Recreation Team, and other staff, the incumbent oversees and promotes recreational programs across the center, ensuring adherence to established rules, schedules, and policies. Responsibilities include maintaining recreational equipment, facilities, and overall cleanliness. Additionally, the incumbent collaborates with the Wellness Team to support key events such as Orientation, Open House, and Health Promotion initiatives
Specific Duties
Oversee intramural and recreational games and areas such as gym area, weight room and bouldering room as requested/scheduled.
Promote athletic and recreation events by distributing and managing wellness event posters, ensuring timely updates and regular rotation to reflect current activities and programs.
Clean and maintain recreation facilities and equipment.
Maintain inventory of recreation equipment and other items that may be required.
Enforce and maintain gym safety measures such as gym and weight-room waiver management.
Maintain daily communication logs and shift checklists.
Support external gym users by facilitating access to Recreation while providing a high level of customer service
The incumbent will support Wellness Team facilitators in implementing health and wellness events, such as pop-up health fairs and Orientation, by assisting with activities related to the 9 dimensions of wellness.
You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners and communities.
You will promote a positive work atmosphere and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.
Other related duties as assigned by Manager or designate.
Skills & Qualifications
High School completion or equivalent
6 months or more experience
Knowledge of a variety of sports and their rules
Ability to work independently.
Understanding of and ability to maintain a safe work and user environment
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Interest in pursuing a career in the recreation field preferred.
