We are seeking a motivated and organized
Athletics and Recreation Assistant
to support the delivery of Recreation Services programming and events. This role combines administrative support, program coordination, and event execution, ensuring a high-quality experience for members and participants. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities
Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing recreational events, tournaments, and seasonal programs across non-racquet sport areas, including recitals, shows, Fitness and Wellness seminars/workshops, the Minor Hockey year-end party, and other activities
Support Home Away From Home outings and assist program leads with scheduling, registration, staffing, equipment coordination, and space bookings
Support risk management practices including documentation, waivers, and incident reporting
Provide administrative assistance, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, processing registrations, tracking participation, preparing reports, and taking meeting minutes
Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding programs and events
Order supplies for all departments and provide general administrative support as required
Serve as the lead for the GameTime scheduling platform, managing facility bookings, user access, schedules, troubleshooting issues, and supporting program registration and reporting
Qualifications
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in program coordination, event planning, or administrative support, preferably in a recreation or sport environment
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with scheduling software (e.g., GameTime, Northstar) is an asset
Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills; ability to multitask and work collaboratively
Familiarity with recreation or community sport programming and experience with facility scheduling or customer service is an asset
Position requires evening and weekend hours to support events and programming (Saturdays plus up to 3 weekdays/weeknights)
Work is office-based with regular movement between workstations throughout various sport and recreation areas
