Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Recovery Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing recovery operations across salvage, subrogation, and repayment/reimbursement processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, exceptional analytical abilities, and a proactive approach to managing recovery processes.
What you will be doing
Salvage Management:
Identify and assess salvageable assets (vehicles, equipment, property) in coordination with vendors, salvage yards, and appraisers.
Manage the sale, disposal, and financial tracking of salvage items to recover claim costs.
Continuously evaluate and refine salvage processes to improve efficiency and outcomes.
Subrogation:
Actively investigate claims to determine liability, identify responsible third parties, and initiate subrogation actions.
Collaborate with legal teams, adjusters, and insurers to initiate subrogation claims and recover costs through negotiation or legal proceedings.
Document and track subrogation activities and outcomes for reporting and compliance purposes.
Repayment/Reimbursement:
Arrange and manage repayment and reimbursement processes (including Home Warranty and Taxi Fleet), ensuring accurate and timely collection.
Establish and track repayment agreements, monitoring compliance and resolving issues.
Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to coordinate collections while maintaining accurate financial records.
Additional Duties:
Partner with claims adjusters, legal teams, vendors, and service providers to execute a comprehensive recovery strategy.
Analyze claims data to identify trends, improve processes, and enhance recovery opportunities.
Provide professional communication and customer service, ensuring timely and empathetic handling of inquiries and concerns.
Provide support during legal proceedings related to subrogation efforts if necessary.
What you bring to the team
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in claims handling, with demonstrated expertise in auto adjusting, subrogation, and recovery processes.
Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with keen attention to detail.
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in claims management software and tools.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to recoveries.
A customer-first mindset with professionalism, empathy, and integrity in every interaction.
