We are seeking an experienced Customer Retention & Lead Recovery Specialist to manage our existing customer base, reclaim stalled or lost leads, and drive measurable improvements in retention and conversion. This role requires a seasoned professional with proven dealership experience and strong CRM mastery -- no staff supervision necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Own relationship management for pre-existing customers: service follow-ups, recalls, ownership outreach, and loyalty initiatives.
Monitor CRM and lead sources to identify and take ownership of stalled, unassigned, or dropped leads; re-engage and qualify through phone, email, and SMS.
Rescue leads (no-shows, incomplete apps, unreturned contacts) and move prospects through to appointments, test drives, financing, and sale.
Coordinate closely with sales, finance, service, and marketing to ensure seamless handoffs and timely customer resolutions.
Maintain precise CRM records, sales sequence notes, and follow-up plans.
Design and execute targeted recovery and retention campaigns; optimize messaging and timing based on results.
Track and report KPIs: lead recovery rate, conversion rate of recovered leads, retention, response time, and revenue attributable to recovered leads.
Act as customer advocate to resolve escalations and ensure high satisfaction.
Required Qualifications:
4+ years direct experience in automotive dealership sales, BDC, customer retention, or similar roles with demonstrated success recovering leads and managing post-sale customers.
Strong track record in lead recovery metrics, customer retention strategies, and driving measurable sales/retention outcomes.
Excellent verbal and written communication; persuasive, persistent, and customer-focused
Highly organized, data-driven, able to analyze trends and implement operational changes. Familiarity with social media platforms.
Assets:
Experience with SMS/email campaign tools, and dealership workflow optimization.
Familiarity with F&I basics and dealership compliance standards
