The Role Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the Records and Information Management Officer is responsible for the development, management and direction of an effective Information Management (IM) program including Access to Information and Protection of Privacy for the City. This is complex work involving a thorough understanding of the operations, business functions and information management requirements of the City, and its mandate to lead in the development and implementation of professional IM practices and standards in alignment with the City\xe2\x80\x99s vision, priorities, and business planning objectives. The position exercises considerable managerial and interpersonal skills in interacting with officials; developing and delivering both records and process training for employees at all levels; ensuring compliance with global legal, regulatory and municipal standards; representing the City in numerous forums and situations, both inside and outside government; monitoring the implementation of IM policies, standards and practices through a de-centralized model while maximizing the use of technology to improve IM. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate for this position has progressive experience in information management with proven experience in planning, organizing and monitoring project activities and policy development; supplemented by a university degree in Information Management, Library or Information Studies; or sufficient qualifications as determined by assessment. Experience in Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act interpretation or coordination of requests and certification in information and privacy, such as IIAP and process or lean improvements, is an asset.
