Job Summary:


This is a part-time position; 21 hours per week, commencing as soon as possible.

The Record Suspension Case Manager, under the direction of the Executive Director and Manager of Justice Services, will primarily be responsible for acting as an advocate for clients within the community. This position will collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate client care and support in consultation with the client. This role will also respect and protect the rights of clients. This position will include completing administrative activities, outreach, community liaison, and facilitating a variety of programming.

This position will facilitate the Record Suspension Program across Simcoe and Muskoka. Assisting eligible individuals through the application process, including but not limited too;

Determining eligibility Corresponding with personnel from the courts, the RCMP, police stations, and the Parole Board on behalf of the client Obtaining necessary paperwork from courthouses Assisting clients with all paperwork and forms Completing the application and mailing it to the Parole Board of Canada Hosting clinics in rural communities and maintaining ongoing partnerships with community agencies such as ODSP, OW, etc.
The Record Suspension Case Manager will conduct one-on-one interviews with program participants and develop customized plans for success. Other duties involve accurate client record keeping and providing regular progress reports. Other duties will be assigned as necessary. Frequent travel is required to various community partner agencies, and outreach meetings with client.

Salary: $23/hour

Contract Term: 1 year.

The John Howard Society of Simcoe and Muskoka is seeking a motivated individual for this role who will work as part of a small team to lead and drive effective outcomes for community members.

Frequent travel across Simcoe County & Muskoka Region is required for this role

Qualifications:



Experience working with individuals and families involved with the criminal justice system. Post-secondary education in a Human Services and/or Criminal Justice related field or equivalent combination of experience and education. Knowledge of the Record Suspension process is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities:


Client Support & Advocacy

Provide one-on-one assistance to clients in navigating housing, health, justice, and social support systems. Advocate for client needs and rights within the community and with community partner agencies. Assist clients with paperwork, forms, and applications related to programs, benefits, and services. Deliver high-quality, client-centered care that respects autonomy, dignity, privacy, and cultural values.
Program Delivery & Facilitation

Facilitate individual and group programming for adult justice clients. Support clients in developing recovery-focused goals and individualized case plans. Administer client feedback tools and surveys to evaluate program outcomes.
Case Management & Documentation

Maintain timely, accurate, and organized case notes and records. Complete documentation and data entry in systems such as HIFIS, and JHSSM's Data collection systems. Prepare client reports and outcome summaries for funders and internal reporting.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Work collaboratively with team members and interdisciplinary partners to plan and coordinate client support. Attend staff meetings and agency events to contribute to team cohesion and continuous improvement.
Outreach & Community Engagement

Plan and host outreach events and rural service clinics in collaboration with community partners. Build and maintain strong relationships with external organizations such as ODSP, OW, housing providers, and legal services.
Record Suspension Program Direct Support

Determine client eligibility for Record Suspensions (pardons). Assist clients in gathering necessary documents from courts, police services, and the Parole Board of Canada. Complete and submit Record Suspension applications on behalf of clients. Maintain professional correspondence with justice system personnel as required.
Quality & Risk Management

Commit to organizational policies related to quality assurance, client safety, and risk management.
