Overview


Park Veterinary Centre is seeking a part-time Receptionist/Kennel Attendant to join our team on Saturdays.

This role is a balance of providing frontline service to our clients, working alongside the team to achieve shared goals and working independently in assisting with cleaning tasks throughout the hospital.

For over 20 years, the caring and compassionate staff at Park Veterinary Centre have been serving the people and pets of the Sherwood Park, and Edmonton area, providing veterinary care to our patients: dogs, cats, even exotic animals like rabbits, reptiles and birds. We are a people-oriented veterinary clinic whose goal is to provide our clients and patients with exceptional service in veterinary diagnostics, medicine, surgery and grooming.

Duties



Client Assistance and Service:

Greet and assist clients, both in-person and over the phone, in a friendly and professional manner. Provide accurate information, answer inquiries, schedule appointments, and address client concerns.

Financial Transactions:

Processing payments for hospital services and products and reconciling daily financial transactions.

Client Education:

Provide basic information and educate clients about preventive care, vaccination schedules, diagnostic procedures, and other veterinary services offered by the clinic.

Disease Management:

Cleaning and disinfecting hospital exam rooms, setting up and cleaning kennels, laundry cycles and other general cleaning tasks. Assist pet owners with check-in and check-out procedures, providing friendly customer service. Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements



Prior experience in customer service is necessary; a friendly attitude and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role. Preference will be given to candidates that have a veterinary-related certification (Veterinary Medical Assistant certificate, Veterinary Medical Receptionist certificate) but is not a requirement. Passion for animal care and a genuine interest in supporting pets' health and happiness. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone and email with clients, in addition to in-person communication. Reliable, punctual, and able to follow detailed instructions accurately. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 40lbs), including lifting animals or retail supplies.

Ability to work Saturdays weekly between the hours of 7:30am-6:30pm. This role will be scheduled for 10 hours per week

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week
