Tauber Music School is seeking a warm, organized, and reliable individual to join our team as a
Studio Host
. This is a front-line role where you'll help shape the experience of students, families, and teachers as the first point of contact in our studios. You'll handle typical reception and light administrative tasks like taking payments, responding to inquiries, enrolling students, coordinating lesson changes, calling customers, and resolving or escalating issues as required. As our Studio Host, you should feel comfortable interacting with kids and people of all ages, enjoy meeting new people and engaging in conversation.
The pace of the role varies. Some locations, days and times of the year are busy and require multitasking in a fast paced environment while maintaining both a friendly demeanour as well as close attention to detail; other times are quieter with more downtime. We're looking for someone who can stay engaged during slower moments and take initiative when things get busy, creating a welcoming and professional environment no matter the tempo.
To help you feel connected to what we do, Studio Hosts who work 24+ hours per week receive
free weekly music lessons
in the instrument of their choice after successfully completing a 3 month probation period.
Weekday
shifts are 3:00/4:00 to 8:00/9:00 p.m. and
Saturdays
9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
We're looking for candidates who can commit to a consistent schedule. Having access to a vehicle and being willing to work at different locations when needed is an asset. This is not a casual or on-call role--we're seeking reliable, longer-term team members who can commit to the position at least until the end of the school year and are interested in being part of our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet students, families, and teachers in a friendly, professional manner
Take time to build rapport with students, families, and teachers by getting to know them and fostering a sense of connection and community
Take payments, answer phones, respond to emails, and provide accurate information about programs
Assist with registration, lesson scheduling, and outgoing phone calls as required
Perform light administrative tasks as delegated by the Office Manager
Maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting room environment
Provide paid support at school events, including setup and front-line assistance at the annual Tauber Music Festival in June
Stay attentive to the daily rhythm of the school and communicate any emerging issues, concerns, or observations to the Office Manager or leadership team
Participation in weekly music lessons is encouraged (unless you already have a strong musical background)
Who We're Looking For:
Friendly, reliable, and professional
Builds positive relationships with students, families, and teachers, while maintaining professional boundaries and a strong sense of responsibility to the school
Strong communicator and organized multitasker with good social skills
Comfortable with computers and technology and willing to learn new tools as required
A musical background is an asset,
but not required -- we welcome candidates who are enthusiastic about music, the arts, or children's activities, and who bring a family-oriented mindset and a genuine interest in learning and participating
A great fit for
university students, those seeking a second job, retirees, or anyone looking to supplement their income
Compensation & Perks:
Wage:
$16.00-$17.00/hour to start
Consistent part-time or full-time work hours available
Positive, community-focused work environment
Free weekly private music lessons
for employees who work 24+ hours per week and successfully complete our 3 month probation period
Additional Opportunities:
This role is ideal for someone early in their career or who is seeking a modest supplemental income in a creative and community oriented environment. While most reception roles at our school are intended as stepping stones to help entry level employees gain experience in the workforce, we do occasionally identify standout team members with strong leadership potential for added responsibilities, such as assisting management in mentoring and training new staff or helping to coordinate and emcee school events.
HOW TO APPLY:
Please send an email to work@taubermusic.com with your resume and a brief note about why you're interested in this position. Feel free to share any
musical background
