Job Title: Part-Time Receptionist
Location: The Wellington Retirement Residence
Wage: 20.85/HourPosition Overview:The Wellington Retirement Residence is seeking a professional, organized, and tech-savvy individual to join our team as a part-time receptionist. This role is crucial in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for residents, families, and guests while supporting the administrative functions of our residence, including handling office supplies, managing spreadsheets, and using Microsoft Publisher.Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet residents, visitors, and staff with a positive, welcoming attitude.
  • Answer incoming calls, direct them to the appropriate departments, and handle inquiries in a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
  • Maintain the reception area, ensuring it remains clean and presentable.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating with staff as needed.
  • Provide general administrative support, including data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Utilize spreadsheets to track information and manage data efficiently.
  • Create and update documents, newsletters, and materials using Microsoft Publisher.
  • Order office supplies and ensure stock levels are maintained for daily operations.
  • Assist in organizing events and resident activities, providing administrative support as required.
  • Respond to resident needs or concerns and communicate them to the appropriate team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist, customer service, or administrative role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher), and comfortable learning new software as needed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and order office supplies as necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor, particularly when interacting with senior residents.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
