The Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre is a dedicated long-term care facility that provides compassionate support and services to the Ukrainian community. With a focus on quality care, we operate a 152-bed home that fosters a welcoming environment for our residents.
Job Summary:
The Receptionist is responsible for customer service at the front desk, including greeting, screening and directing families and visitors at this Long-Term Care facility (Care Centre). Monitors the reception area in accordance with policies and guidelines. Provides clerical support to management and committees. All duties are performed with consideration to the needs, care and satisfaction of the residents and in compliance with the Corporation's privacy and confidentiality policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Answers the telephone, directs calls, takes messages and responds to enquiries in a timely professional and courteous manner.
Ensures all visitors (including service providers) sign in and out and follow procedures and Infection Control protocols
Monitors and controls access to and exit from the Care Centre in accordance with the security guidelines.
Understands the general day-to-day operation of the Care Centre to be able to provide information and assistance to all visitors, residents, and staff when they experience difficulties or have any questions.
Maintains log and monitors resident exits from the Care Centre
Informs the Administrator and/or Executive Assistant of all matters of major importance.
Informs charge personnel of all unusual occurrences on the main floor.
Directs questions and enquiries to the appropriate personnel,
Forwards all media, police and legal inquiries to the Administrator or designated on call manager.
Maintains confidentiality of all information at all times
Maintains the physical appearance of the reception area.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education an asset. Minimum 1 year related experience
Computer literacy is required, with knowledge of MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-PowerPoint.
Experience in use of office related equipment including telephone system, photocopying, etc.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Highly effective interpersonal, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Fluent in English. Understanding of Ukrainian culture and language will be considered an asset.
