We provide individual, group and family interventions that include mental health counselling, autism services, education, outreach and referral, early intervention, day treatment and community support. In its Lead Agency role, Strides Toronto collaborates with 23 publicly funded infant, child and youth mental health (ICYMH) core service providers to design and implement system-level improvements that promote access, responsive service delivery and experience, and positive mental health outcomes for young people and families across Toronto\'s diverse communities. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Receptionist 2 is a part-time permanent position that provides daily administrative functions and reception duties to support organization\xe2\x80\x99s employees and programs, clients, external partners and agencies and the public, ensuring the efficient operation of the office environment. This role serves as the initial point of contact for children, youth, and families in helping to provide information and navigate clients to the appropriate care services. This position will require the individual to work alternating shifts, including evenings for up to 24 hours a week. Salary range: $23.00 to $27.00 per hour. WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Provide back-up coverage for the administration of the \xe2\x80\x98what\xe2\x80\x99s up walk-in\xe2\x80\x99 counselling program, ensuring the efficient operation of brief services through processing referrals and coordinating counselling support for clients.
  • Arrange the initial psychiatric appointment bookings with the Shoniker Clinic for all clients and serve as the central correspondence between therapists and the Shoniker clinic to connect clients to additional services in the community.
  • Manage high-volume clinical documents that are submitted for scanning, naming, and uploading to the Client Record Database, ensuring essential clinical documents are stored virtually in the client\xe2\x80\x99s record for quick and easy retrieval of information.
  • Manage the general office telephone system, email, postal mail, and fax as per organization\xe2\x80\x99s protocols, ensuring the efficient administration and processing of messages and mail.
  • Perform daily reception and administrative duties for clients, staff, external partners, and the public, assisting in the efficiency of the office administration.

THE \xe2\x80\x9cMUST HAVES\xe2\x80\x9d
The following education, professional memberships and knowledge are a requirement for this role:
  • Completion of Grade 12 education.
  • Minimum one year of administrative experience.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency in order to use Microsoft Office, Outlook and other computerized systems.
  • Knowledge of programs and services offered at all levels and interacting with staff at all levels.
  • Knowledgeable about the programs and policies governing the \xe2\x80\x98what\xe2\x80\x99s up walk-in\xe2\x80\x99 and other procedures for referrals to internal programs.
  • Awareness of the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and within the community being served by the position.
  • An understanding of Anti-Black Racism, anti-oppressive/anti-racism perspective in the context of the social determinants of health when working with clients and their families.
  • Ability to recognize and identify situations where incidents of and imbalance of power and privilege may occur and can result in possible negative impacts for the client.

While not required, preference will be given to candidates with the following:
  • Knowledge of the cultural diversity of communities served by the organization.
  • Fluency in another language(s), including sign language.
