Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Pay Rate:

$26 - $30 / hr. and up based on experience.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Receiving Specialist to join our construction site team. The ideal candidate will have experience with forklifts and zoom booms and be competent with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Outlook. Current safety tickets are an asset, however, will assist with obtaining if the candidate does not have. Willing to relocate or reliably commute to the Red Deer area.

Responsibilities:

Unload merchandise from carriers and check the quantity and quality of merchandise. Use powered lift equipment (e.g., forklifts, zoom booms) to unload trucks and move freight to designated staging areas. Enter information about incoming merchandise using provided tools. Maintain a clean and organized receiving area. Schedule and coordinate deliveries and pre/post information for the site. Identify and read vendor packing slips, carrier shipping documents, UPC labels, and other receiving documents. Count freight and goods to satisfy freight bills. Identify damaged merchandise and take appropriate action Performs other duties as directed by the Superintendent. Assist in the creation of receiving processes. Use appropriate safety procedures when organizing merchandise. Communicate with other team members to ensure all product is stocked in the proper place.

Experience & Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. Must be comfortable in a construction environment. Warehouse experience is an asset. A working knowledge of computers and office equipment such as phone systems and copier. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Attention to detail. Ability to work effectively with the team while also being self-motivated and able to work independently. Experience with shipping and receiving. Ability to unload trucks and stock merchandise. Ability to maintain records and keep track of all areas of responsibility.

Typical Physical Demands:

Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. A normal range of hearing and vision is required. Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items. Ability to lift 50 pounds and move heavy and bulky items. Walking and standing for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

Includes exposure to sound and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Requires wearing protective and/or safety equipment. Requires working outdoors exposed to all weather conditions.
