Job Summary
The Art of Nature Childcare is seeking an experienced and highly dedicated
RECE Supervisor
to oversee the daily operations and regulatory compliance of our
Barrie North Campus
. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of the CCEYA, and a deep passion for high-quality, nature-based early learning. This role involves supervising staff, supporting families, ensuring exceptional program quality, and upholding the philosophy and values of The Art of Nature Childcare.
This position also requires
strong working knowledge of the CWELCC Funding Framework
and the ability to manage
Subsidy Service Agreements
with the County of Simcoe, including fee reductions, attendance reporting, reconciliation, and compliance.
The RECE Supervisor will work collaboratively with the Owner/Operator and management team to maintain a safe, nurturing, innovative, and regulation-compliant environment for children, families, and educators.

. Responsibilities include guiding staff, supporting children's development, building strong relationships with families, maintaining full compliance with the CCEYA and Public Health, and ensuring smooth operational integration with CWELCC and subsidy programs.
The successful candidate is a
Registered Early Childhood Educator in Good Standing
with strong administrative, leadership, and communication skills.
Core Leadership & Vision

Serve as the operational leader and designated Supervisor under the CCEYA.
Ensure full compliance with all legislative and regulatory bodies (CCEYA, Ministry of Education, Public Health, Fire).
Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for all children and staff.
Promote a culture of professionalism, curiosity, and respect.
Staff Management & Development
Create and distribute weekly staff schedules; manage call-ins, absences, and daily coverage.
Lead hiring: create postings, interview candidates, onboard and offboard staff.
Conduct performance check-ins and annual reviews.
Mentor staff on pedagogy, classroom management, documentation, and nature-based learning.
Track staff certifications (First Aid/CPR, VSC, immunizations).
Lead team meetings and foster a collaborative, supportive culture.
Family Engagement & Enrollment
Manage inquiries, tours, registrations, and waitlist movement.
Support new families through transition and orientation into the Barrie North program.
Oversee Brightwheel setup and ongoing communication with families.
Ensure all communication is professional, timely, and aligned with centre policies.
Address and resolve family concerns with tact, empathy, and professionalism.
Compliance, Licensing & Documentation
Prepare the Barrie North campus for Ministry licensing inspections and Public Health inspections.
Conduct and document:
Monthly fire drills
Daily and monthly playground safety checks
Classroom health & sanitation checks
Maintain organized and secure digital records for children, staff, and operations.
Ensure annual policy reviews and acknowledgements for all staff.
Collaborate with Early Interventionists and external agencies supporting individual children.
Curriculum & Program Quality
Oversee the quality and implementation of the nature-based curriculum.
Support RECEs and educators in delivering outdoor learning, emergent curriculum, and responsive pedagogy.
Ensure program quality exceeds licensing and organizational standards.
Support consistent routines, meals, transitions, and outdoor exploration.
Centre Operations & Administration
Report regularly to the Owner/Director regarding staffing, compliance, enrolment, and operational needs at Barrie North.
Maintain inventory and order supplies for educational and operational needs.
Use digital tools effectively (Brightwheel, Microsoft Office, online posting platforms).
Assist in planning centre events, celebrations, and community outreach initiatives.
CWELCC & Subsidy Responsibilities
Applicants must have experience with or willingness to quickly learn:
CWELCC Funding Framework and annual provincial/municipal guidelines
Understanding of allowable vs. non-allowable expenses
Funding and compensation boundaries
Fee reductions, reimbursements, and CWELCC reporting
Simcoe County Subsidy Service Agreements
Attendance reporting, reconciliation, and communication with subsidy administrators
Supporting families receiving subsidy
Maintaining compliance with evolving government directives
Community & Public Relations
Represent The Art of Nature Childcare professionally in all interactions.
Build strong relationships with licensing bodies, agencies, and community partners.
Support family participation in events and community-based activities.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.86-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
