Our program aims to guide children using a multi-faceted approach that promotes using hands-on and engaging learning experiences for children ages infant to school-age.

We are looking for Registered Early Childhood Educators who are passionate, energetic and creative to join our amazing team!

Qualified applicants:

MUST have a diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education MUST be a registered member of the Ontario College of ECEs and be in good standing MUST have a valid First Aid/CPR Level C certificate MUST have a Vulnerable Sector Screening or be willing to obtain a new one MUST be available to start a this position on or before September 2, 2025

Scheduled Hours



Split Shift Monday to Friday: 630am-930am & 230pm-6:00pm

PA days/Snow Days/March Break - Full 9 hour shifts will be required between 645am-545pm

Job Summary:



The Early Childhood Educator collaborates closely with all other members of the program team to provide nurturing care and education to young children in a group setting, under the supervision of the Centre Director; in accordance with the goals and curriculum plans of the centre and the philosophy and policies of the agency and in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act of Ontario

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:



Arrives 10 minutes prior to shift start time, dress professionally and ready to work by scheduled times.

Responsible for the constant supervision, safety and well-being of the children

Responsible for the supervision of, and provides professional guidance to all assistants working within the centre. Ensures that quality work is done by assistants who are completing Learning Stories, Reflections, Daily Connect Communications, Individual Comments, Incident and Accident Reports

Ensures that Daily Communication Record is complete with all parental requests/directions, absences, illnesses, requests, reminders, issues and pertinent conversations by all staff in the room

Reports all non-compliances to the Director immediately

Ensure that all daily and weekly sanitation is completed and shared by all classroom staff in an equal and fair manner and that all staff are signing off on each duty that they complete.

Recognizes and responds to the needs of each child by using developmentally appropriate teaching and child behaviour management techniques

Responsible for planning, preparing and implementing stimulating, age-appropriate activities that encourage children's creativity and learning and promote each child's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development

Responsible for posting program plans and reflections for the classroom daily

Participates fully and consistently as a conscientious team member in caring for the children and in the overall operation of the program and centre; maintains regular and open communication with program team members and all other co-workers

Establishes and maintains regular communication with parents and caregivers. Uses sensitivity and privacy when discussing concerning behaviours, progress etc with caregivers. Always provides a positive comment for each child during pick up. Ensures that Daily Connect is accurate and up to date for all children in the classroom.

Ensures the program operates at all times in compliance with all child care licensing standards

Must know and implement: Centre routines and practices; Ministry of Education regulations and requirements, Ontario Child Care and Early Years Act regulations; Simcoe/Muskoka Health Department guidelines.

Observes and records relevant information on each child's progress as required/as per centre practices

Attends and participates actively in all program/centre, parental or other meetings as required

Shares responsibility for maintaining program equipment in good repair; assists with toy/equipment disinfecting

Shares responsibility for maintaining the play environments and storage areas in an organized and clutter-free condition

Participates in regular fire drills and other emergency procedures

Engages in positive collaboration with the other programs and early childhood educators of the centre in coordinating the effective use of equipment, facilities and personnel

Participates in ongoing professional development and attends/maintains all mandatory training

Participates in the supervision, training and mentoring of students and supply teachers

Assists the Centre Director in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by promptly reporting any existing and/or potential workplace hazards

Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Centre Director or her/his designate

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $27.00 per hour
