About Our Opportunity

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in affordable housing solutions? Join our team as a Real Property Analyst, where you will play a crucial role in supporting research and statistical analysis.

Your role will inform operations, strategic planning, policy and program development and implementation. As a valuable member of our team, you will ensure that the Real Property Services division has access to reliable and relevant data. Your contributions will be pivotal in informing the department\'s strategic real estate objectives.

Primary Accountabilities

As the Real Property Analyst, you will gather information and draft reports and documents on a broad range of real property related topics. Key responsibilities will include maintaining data sets and supporting senior team members working on a variety of initiatives including but not limited to individual property and portfolio valuations, real estate acquisition and disposals, property assessment reviews, vacant land bank management, land use feasibility studies, strategic new housing development and partnership opportunities, and asset transformation and re-development projects.

In this role you can expect to:

  • Conduct research, collect data, and analyze information related to real property ownership data, developed property and vacant land characteristics, real estate activity, rental rates, market trends, economic factors and other considerations that influence property values, real estate development and risk;
  • Establish efficient information tracking processes, develop effective survey methodologies, and maintain comprehensive real property data sets with detailed property records relied upon to improve real property portfolio analysis and management;
  • Lead research and analysis required in response to requests for information;
  • Coordinate and prepare clear, accurate and timely briefing materials, presentations and correspondence;
  • Track, monitor and report on research project timelines and deliverables;
  • Engage in regular communication with departmental staff to gather and coordinate information. Establish a network of contacts in other government departments for the purpose of information sharing and collaboration on shared objectives.
  • Prepare financial models and statistical analysis to support the department\'s real property objectives;
  • Other related land administration and support duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience

You will have a bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field and at least three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

You must:
  • Demonstrate a high attention to detail; ensuring accuracy in research, analysis, and reporting;
  • Have strong organizational and project management skills;
  • Possess strong analytical capabilities to interpret data, trends, and patterns effectively for informed decision-making;
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and concisely;
  • Be proficient in various software applications, particularly Microsoft Office products;
  • Thrive under tight time constraints, handling pressure effectively when meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects concurrently;
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently using sound judgement and considerable initiative;
  • Balance priorities effectively and foster positive collaboration within the team and across departments.
Though not required, desirable assets include:
  • Experience working with provincial land registration systems;
  • Previous experience in real estate, appraisal, or property assessment industries;
  • Membership in a related professional association, either designated or working towards a recognized designation.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s) and reference checks.

Equivalency

We recognize equivalent combinations of training, education, and experience, providing opportunities for individuals with diverse backgrounds to contribute their skills and expertise. Equivalencies include, but are not limited to:
  • A related master\'s degree and one (1) year of related experience
  • A related 2-year diploma and five (5) years of related experience
  • Seven (7) years of total related experience

Pay Grade: PR 10

Salary Range: $2,251.48 - $2,746.69 Bi-Weekly
